My site is a weblog focusing on baseball news and interests with an emphasis on the Boston Red Sox. I have been a passionate fan of baseball since 1986 (started off with the gloom of the '86 series, I know).
The site's name has a certain underlying meaning. I was inspired by a story in the Boston Globe about a girl and her first visit to Fenway Park. She had the obstructed view seat. It didn't even faze her because she was so unbelieveably excited to enjoy her first baseball park experience, she didn't care if she couldn't see. These are the seats where I believe the best fans sit.
My goal, like any other weblog author's goal, is to be read and hopefully enjoyed. Using my keen insight, excellent knowledge of baseball, passion for the Red Sox, and even occasionally my Encyclopedia of baseball stats (which is currently serving as my paper weight), I take analytical looks at teams (mainly Boston), trades, signings, and general news. I also try to use as many run-on sentences as possible.
I usually will link to a news article, baseball blog, or website with interesting and/or useful information on the game and the business of baseball. In my post I insert small blurbs containing my thoughts on the article or feature. From time to time I also like to write more extensive articles using my vast knowledge and my creative wit ( please keep the laughing to a minimum).
You can expect at least 4-5 posts a day during the offseason. Because this site is brand new, I cannot forecast how many I will do once the season starts. The most accurate estimate I can give you is "many".
I appreciate all comments and/or suggestions as I am constantly working on new ways to improve my site. Email me.
Thanks and enjoy ObstructedSeats.net!
